Imagine a giant notebook that thousands of people worldwide each have a copy of. Every time someone writes something — like "Alice sent Bob $10" — everyone's copy updates instantly. Nobody can go back and change it.
A blockchain is like the ocean's wave log — every wave (transaction) is recorded forever. Nobody can say a wave didn't happen.
Cryptocurrency is digital money secured by math (cryptography) living on a blockchain. Unlike regular money, no government or bank controls it.
